What We Do

Regular groups and events

At Hook Norton Baptist Church we run a number of mid-week community groups as well as our regular Sunday service.

Sunday Service
Sunday 10.30am

Our Sunday services are an opportunity to take time to think and pray, to worship God together and to learn from the bible. We are a small church and our services are informal.

There are toys and books for children to play with (noise is encouraged!), an eclectic group of musicians for our musical worship and hot drinks and biscuits afterwards in the Hall.

Still Waters Café
Wednesday 10am-12pm

Still Waters is a wellbeing café which runs every Wednesday from 10am-12pm. There is tea, coffee and cake available, puzzles, crafts and good conversation!

All are welcome to drop in.

Stay and Play
Friday 10am-12pm

Stay and Play is a parent and toddler group. It provides an opportunity for children to play together and develop early social skills as well a time for care-givers to connect with each other. All pre-school aged children are welcome along with their parents, grandparents or child-minders! There are toys ranging from baby toys to activity stations and crafts for older children. Drinks and treats are provided as well as healthy alternatives.

Lunch Club

Monthly

The Lunch Club usually meets on the first Monday of each month. About 30 people from the community attend
each time, gathering from 12 noon and finishing at around 1.30 pm. There is
a freshly cooked main meal followed by a dessert choice and tea or coffee,
all for just five pounds. There is also an opportunity to take part in a prize raffle.

The Alpha Course
Next date to be announced

'Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone's welcome. It runs in cafés, churches, universities, homes—you name it.

No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: food, a talk and good conversation.

Our Alpha course takes place in the Baptist Hall which is next to the chapel.
